Local Reporter Wins Honor
Aaron Short wins New York Civic Prize
Greenline salutes Aaron Short, a reporter for the Brooklyn Paper, who was named runner-up of the Mary Perot Nichols Award from New York Civic, a good government watchdog group.
Short, 30, a native of Stoors, Connecticut, won for his investigative coverage of a city non-profit organization and its political ties. Known for his dogged reporting style and unique fashion sense – including a seersucker suit, a panama hat, a bowtie, and thick-framed Woody Allen-style glasses – Short has been a fixture in North Brooklyn since 2007, when he first took a job covering Greenpoint for the Greenpoint Courier.
